We are delighted to announce that Shiv Mandir Temple of Joy celebrated the auspicious occasion of Ratha Yatra on August 20, 2022, with great devotion and enthusiasm. The Ratha Yatra festival is one of the most important events on the Hindu calendar, and it was heartwarming to see the community come together to celebrate this joyous occasion. The festival celebrates the journey of Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra, from their temple to the Gundicha Temple. The celebrations began with the traditional puja and arati at the temple, followed by the procession of the beautifully decorated chariot. The devotees enthusiastically participated in pulling the chariot, which symbolizes the journey of Lord Jagannath to his maternal aunt's house.
The festival was a spectacle of colors, music, and devotion, with devotees chanting hymns and singing bhajans. It was a joyous occasion for everyone present, with a feeling of community and togetherness prevailing throughout.
